About us
About Dementia Aide
Caring for someone with dementia is one of the hardest things a family can go through. It can feel confusing, overwhelming, and at times incredibly lonely.
Dementia Aide exists to make the caregiving journey a little clearer, a little more supported, and a little less isolating. We share practical information, thoughtful products (only a couple!), and real-world insights to help families navigate the everyday challenges that come with dementia.
Whether you’re just starting to notice changes or you’ve been caring for someone for years, our goal is simple: help you feel more confident, more prepared, and more supported along the way.
If you ever have questions — or simply need someone who understands what this journey looks like — please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re always here to connect.

The Story Behind Dementia Aide
Dementia Aide was born out of our own family’s experience.
In 2009, my father, Jorge Garcia, was diagnosed with early-onset Frontotemporal Dementia at just 56 years old. He had symptoms at least 10 years prior. At the time he still had six children in their teens and twenties, and our family suddenly found ourselves navigating a disease we knew very little about.

Over the next two decades, we learned — often the hard way — what dementia care actually looks like day to day. The medical side is only one piece of the puzzle. Families also have to figure out the emotional, practical, and logistical realities of caring for someone whose abilities and personality are changing.
Along the way, we discovered small things that made a big difference — better tools, better approaches, and better ways to support both the person with dementia and the people caring for them.
Dementia Aide was created to share those lessons with other families. Everything we build, share, and recommend is rooted in real caregiving experience — because this isn’t just our work, it’s our story.
From our family to yours.
